Hello Coventry! Long time, no Covert posting.

As many of you are aware, the Tin Angel on Spon Street was unexpectedly closed in February, and we are particularly sad at the manner in which we lost it. However, whilst mourning the demise of what was almost a second home to many of Coventry’s finest minds and musicians, we are determined to make steps to secure our place in the city’s cultural fabric, at the Canal Basin with the Tin’s younger-but-bigger brother Taylor John’s House. We still have plenty going on down here, and will be announcing our full autumn/winter lineup shortly. Some shows have already gone up on our website – http://www.thetinangel.co.uk – so make sure to note the dates in your diary, get tickets and come down for some superb live music!

The demise of the Tin has meant that the Tin Angel Records team have moved into the Units at the Canal Basin, right on the doorstep of TJH. This year has been a busy one so far, with new records from Devon Sproule, Julia Kent, Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (r), Larsen and Trumpets of Death coming out in the first half of 2011. The second half of the year is set to see releases from Paul Curreri, Charlie Parr, Baby Dee, and new Tin Angel signees Doug Tielli and Two Wings. We’re in the middle of our first ever remix competition, based around Paul Curreri’s new record, which we’re holding via SoundCloud; find out more over at http://soundcloud.com/groups/paul-curreri-poor-little-motorbike-remix-group/info – we’d love to see some Coventry acts and producers get in on the action!

Hope to see you all soon!
